As a diverse network of individuals and families, we understand and appreciate the multiple identities that our community members bring to the Jewish Multiracial Network and we continuously seek to find new opportunities to recognize and support those identities in tangible ways. Specifically, we know that for our members that identify as Queer Jews of Color, there is scarcity of resources readily available that speak to that specific identity. There are existing resources for LGBTQ Jews, LGBTQ people of color, and Jews of color, but very few that speak to the unique experience of being an LGBTQ Jew of Color. To address this scarcity, we’ve partnered with Keshet to develop a compilation of blogs, articles, social media accounts, and other multimedia that speak specifically to the unique experience of being a Queer Jew of Color.
JMN Board Member and author and creator of the blog, Black Gay Jewish, Erika Davis’s latest blog highlights the importance of resources like this to further conversations on QJOC issues in our Jewish communities.
