THE BACKGROUND
Both the Jewish Multiracial Network and Jewish diversity in America are growing rapidly. As a community, we have many unmet needs for connection, community, and greater diversity awareness. Let’s start meeting those needs!
It’s about time we take a bold step and collectively, as a community that values Jewish diversity, bring our vision to life. How better to do that than by coming together through local and regional events? A JMN event can be as simple or sophisticated as you and your community members would like it to be.
The point is to:
1. come together,
2. build community through dialogue & social interaction,
3. educate, and
4. empower ourselves through greater self-awareness and the development of stronger leadership skills.
We can do it. We aredoing it!
Currently, JMN is an all-volunteer organization. (Contact JMN President April Baskin, jmn.president@gmail.com, if you’re interested in helping JMN reach the next level, either through capacity building assistance or financial contribution.) So we rely on our members to take initiative, self-empower, and assume an active role in community building. We believe the grassroots approach is the best, most meaningful strategy for community building and empowerment because it comes from the very people who are invested in taking ownership of their unique identity and vision of a more inclusive Jewish community that celebrates its diversity.
